But the truth is that Robert feels an intimate deep tedium. The boredom of those who have already exhausted all the pleasures of life. The only thing still surprising him is the fact that nothing surprises him anymore.
Meanwhile...
One evening he has an overwhelming encounter with a woman. She reveals her unappeasable past, intact, displaying her crime and crying for its public scandal. Between that past and the present, phantom objects, beings, places, the dreamy truth is prolonged and a blanket of silence falls upon the soul of Robert forever sealed ...

Um libertino! dirão outros.
Seja como for, é um homem impassível, indecifrável… e daí enigmático!
Mas a verdade é que no seu íntimo Roberto sente um profundo tédio. O tédio de quem já esgotou todos os prazeres desta vida.
A única coisa capaz de o espantar é o facto de já nada o espantar.
No entanto... Uma noite, um inesperado encontro com uma mulher deixa-o completamente transtornado.
Ela desvenda todo um passado sem tréguas, intacto, escancara o seu crime e reclama a exibição do escândalo.
Entre este passado e o presente - fantasmagoria de objetos, seres, lugares - a rêverie prolonga-se e uma capa de silêncio cai sobre a alma de Roberto que se fecha para sempre...
