Pedro (Gonçalo Waddington) é um jovem encenador cheio de dúvidas sobre a peça de teatro político que tem nas mãos e a atravessar uma crise pessoal. Para além do questionamento do radicalismo revolucionário que essa peça coloca e que interpela directamente o seu próprio passado familiar, Pedro mostra-se também confuso com as novas responsabilidades e expectativas decorrentes da gravidez da namorada (Joana Seixas). A encenação parece indefinidamente bloqueada até que Pedro faz uma descoberta em casa da avó, que poderá explicar o desaparecimento do seu pai logo após a Revolução dos Cravos. Na caravana em que a família o costumava levar para férias em miúdo, Pedro encontra dois revólveres e vários documentos que lançam uma nova luz sobre tudo o que lhe tinham dito sobre a misteriosa figura do pai. Parte à procura de respostas, deixando todas as responsabilidades imediatas para trás. O filme de Ivo M. Ferreira, que assina aqui a sua segunda longa-metragem, é uma interpelante e rara revisitação ficcional de algumas memórias pós-revolucionárias portuguesas.

[April 1974 saw the fall of a dictatorship that had lasted for over 40 years in Portugal. In the years that followed, the young democracy set the stage for much political confusion. It was in this setting that the activities of the armed wing of a faction on the extreme left changed forever the fate of one family – the father disappears without trace, the mother chooses to deny the past and the son grows up with many unanswered questions. In 2008 and by now a young adult, Pedro reaches the most momentous decision of his life so far: to return to his family and country’s past. Leaded by his grandmother and, above all, his determination to solve the riddle of his childhood, he sets about collecting clues almost obliterated by time, and comes across people who would prefer to remain forgotten. But, little by little, he arrives at the point where his father disappeared. Was it murder? Did he escape? Commit suicide? During this inner journey that takes him from Portugal to the Spanish desert, Pedro rediscovers his relationship with those closest to him and, above all, finally finds himself.]
